Book search support

The university library provides search support and search request services for researchers and doctoral students employed at or affiliated to Linköping university. In addition, we answer questions about literature searches, tools and resources for searching, and more. Scheduled meetings with us will primarily take place via Zoom or Teams, but it is also possible to make an IRL appointment.

Search support: Often, search support involves a meeting where the university library can give advice as to databases and other resources, show how to work with search terms and construct a search strategy, save your search history and create alerts. We can also help you in getting started with systematic searches or give advice in the course of a more comprehensive search process. In those cases, you might want to meet with us on several occasions. After you have had search support with us, you will have gained more knowledge and can continue your work by yourself.

Search requests: The library is willing to take on search requests when searches are meant to result in a systematic review, scoping review or another kind of comprehensive and structured literature review. If you are unsure as to which kind of review to conduct, we suggest you have a look at this flow chart: What type of review is right for you: https://guides.library.cornell.edu/ld.php?content_id=52561085
The library designs searches in close collaboration with researchers. Queue time may occur. We also take on search requests for systematic reviews as part of compilation theses. For searches directed at the PhD summary chapter (kappa), you can only make an appointment for search support (see above).

A basic level of search requests services is included for free. An extended level may be added against payment. Find out what is included in our search request services and the way they are charged here.
